AREA MEET 2009

ISABELA, Negros Occidental -- La Castellana National High School participated in the recently concluded Area V Athletic and Cultural Meet. 137 delegates from LCNHS compete to bring home the awards. After 3 years, LCNHS Dance Troupe win back its championship title in the Folk Dance Competition trained by Mrs. Jolna L. Villar and Mayjor Ray Embang, also the costume designer. Other winners in the cultural event are as follows:
English Declamation, CHRISTINE THEL GEOLLEGUE - 2nd Place
Filipino Declamation, MATT DANIEL ROA - 2nd Place
Extemporaneous Speech, ELMOR GICARO III - 1st Place
Vocal Solo Classical, KEZIA MAE JADLOC - 1st Place
Folk Dance, BEA LOISA GERARDINO, JERICA SEMILLER, MARICON BAUTISTA, ANGELIKA CASABUENA, JOHN ADRIAN SALANDAGUIT, CHRISTIAN ADAM ANDICO, REYLAN TORRES, MARK JAICO PARCON - 1st Place

LCNHS: The Most Sustainable and Eco-Friendly School in the Philippines

LA CASTELLANA NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL was adjudged as the National winner of the Search for the Most Sustainable and Eco-Friendly School in the whole Philippines.
The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), through the Environmental Management Bureau (EMB) together with the Department of Education (DepEd) and Commission on Higher Education (CHED), sponsored the “National Search for Sustainable and Eco-Friendly Schools” contest.
The nationwide search is open to elementary, high school and tertiary levels that are conducting sustainable and environment-friendly programs and activities.
Awarding ceremonies will be on November 19, 2009 in Manila.
